Personal Details
Dr. Mohammad Shameem Al Mamun S/O Mohammad Asim Uddin and Mrs. Komola Begum was born on 01 July 1978 at Ghatail Uttar Para, Ghatail Upazila under Tangail District, Bangladesh. His father is a renowned business man & his mother is a housewife. He has an elder sister and a younger brother. Dr. Mamun completed his elementary education from Mukul Academy, Ghatail and secondary education from Ghatail Gano Pilot High School situated in the heart of Ghatail. After completing the secondary education He completed higher secondary education from Ghatail Cantonment Public School and College, Tangail.
He did his graduation and post graduation from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh in 2001 and 2005, respectively and secured the highest CGPA (3.71 out of 4.00) in MS in Entomology degree. He had also dreamed a dream to be a good researcher in any research institute. At last he achieved it. On 30 July 2007, He joined as Scientific Officer (Entomology) at Bangladesh Tea Research Institute (BTRI), an organ of Bangladesh Tea Board under Ministry of Commerce, Government of the Peoples' Republic of Bangladesh.
Later, He awarded PGD in Tea Plantation Management degree with A+ from Kothari Agricultural Management Centre, Tamil Nadu, India under Colombo Plan Scholarship in 2010. He was promoted to Senior Scientific Officer (Entomology) & Head of Entomology Division, BTRI on 20 March 2013. He also achieved a higher training on Pollution Free Tea Production Technology from Zhangzhou College of Science & Technology, Fujian, China in 2016. Recently, He awarded a PhD degree from the Department of Food Engineering & Tea Technology at Shahjalal University of Science & Technology, Sylhet in 2017.
He is married with Shamima Nasrin Happy, MA, BEd. He is blessed with two sweet daughters (Sarah Binte Shameem & Sabah Binte Shameem). In his personal life, Dr. Mamun is a good natured, sincere, friendly & social person.
